Therapy for Mountain Sports & Adventure Communities

Bedrock therapy is centered around supporting the unique needs of mountain athletes and the outdoor-oriented. I often partner with nature-lovers, weekend warriors, professional athletes, injured athletes, aging athletes, guides, educators, and first responders. Sometimes our work focuses specifically on experiences within mountain sports, and yet many times, it explores relationships we have with ourselves and with others, and what it means to live personally meaningful lives.

  • Maybe running/skiing/climbing/biking (or another sport) is your primary coping strategy and you’re looking to develop new tools for your toolbox

  • Maybe you’re feeling disconnected with yourself, others, or the qualities you want most in life

  • Maybe you’re stuck in sport mode- always working, striving, improving- but you’re unfulfilled or burned out

  • Maybe you’ve had (or someone important to you has had) an injury, accident or near miss

  • Maybe your relationship with a sport or activity is shifting

  • Or maybe you’re wanting to incorporate nature into your path of insight, growth or healing

Whatever it is, we’ve probably got a shared language. It’s a great honor for me to help people take back their lives and create more clarity, confidence, and peace

Therapy for Individuals

You don’t consider yourself particularly outdoorsy, or the reason you’re seeking support isn’t related to outdoor experiences? No problem. My highest intention is helping people navigate changes as well as the inner and outer landscapes that lead to stress, anxiety, grief, and losing connection with all that we are. I often work with high-achievers, coaches, healthcare workers, leaders, creatives and recent graduates. Sometimes it can seem there is always a reason to work harder, do more, and continually improve. And, all that effort can turn into burnout, frustration, feeling lost or unfulfilled. If this sounds like you, I’m here to help.

Hi, I’m Ash and I’m glad you’re here

I am a mental health professional in Colorado. I’m received my MA from Colorado State University in clinical mental health counseling. I’ve completed additional trainings in trauma, grief, mindfulness, and nature-based therapy. I’ve also studied outdoor-related psychological first aid and stress injury.

If you’re looking for a confidential and compassionate place to journey inward, you’ve come to the right place. I view the process of therapy as guided self discovery. Along the traverse of life, we all encounter parts that challenge us, change us, confuse us, have us going backward, or ask us to dig deeper. In our work together, you can expect to:

  • Cultivate healthier habits from the inside out

  • Feel more peace by letting go of unhelpful ways of coping and outdated rules for yourself

  • Live more aligned with your personal values by mindfully approaching goals and challenges

Areas of Focus

  • Backcountry & Outdoor Accidents

  • Adjustment to Injury & Changing Abilities

  • Self-Worth Tied to Achievement & Perfectionism

  • Career Transitions

  • Navigating Change

  • Stress, Pressure & Anxiety

  • Grief & Loss (divorce, death, job loss)

  • Self-Understanding, Identity & Authenticity

While I don’t yet know why you may be looking for support, I do hold hope that together we can create doorways to insight, growth, healing, and lasting change. And, if I’m not a good fit, I may be able to point you in a direction that is.
